What Are Normal Testosterone, DHT, DHEA-S, and SHBG Levels Across The Menstrual Cycle?

In the last article, we covered Estrogen and Progesterone across the menstrual cycle HERE.

In this post, we are going to double-click on the androgens, as well as sex hormone binding globulin (SHBG). In general, these compounds are much more stable across the menstrual cycle. Given that Testosterone and DHT are found in very low concentrations, the method of assessment is critical as these hormones are pushing the limits of detection for even ultrasensitive (LC-MS/MS) methodologies.

We can see from the summary graphic at the bottom of this article that Skiba [1], Rothman [2], and Braunstein [3] are of the most interest, so let’s review them one by one.
